As per early estimates the film Happy New Year has managed to collect Rs 400 million net ( Rs 40 crores ) approximately at the indian box office on its first day of release shattering the previous records of Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 and Salman Khan ‘s Kick.
The highest opening day record was held by Aamir Khan for Dhoom 3, but with Diwali being a great day for box office, Shah Rukh Khan’s film has managed to beat the numbers.
Dhoom 3 was the highest opening day for a non holiday and will still hold the title for that, Dhoom 3 (Hindi version) had collected in the range of Rs 334.2 million (33.4 crore) net . Collections of the regional versions (Tamil and Telugu) of Dhoom 3 were in the range of Rs 28 million (2.8 crore) net .
The total earnings of Dhoom 3 (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu) are in the range of Rs 362.2 million (36.22 crore) net at the indian box office which the Shah Rukh Khan starer Happy New Year has already managed to achieve.
